Hello - I have an advanced parole which expires end of August this year. I already applied for another advanced parole 2 months ago but havent received it yet. The thing is I need to travel begining of September. By then, my current AP will be expired and probably I wont have my new one.

The thing is I am planning on staying abroad for few months and asked my friend to bring me my Advanced Parole once issued.

What are the risks here?

I am just waiting on my adjustment of status (green card) from work.

Thank You,

P.S Had to repost the same question...

Make an Infopass appointment, take in your itinerary and tickets (if you have them already) and ask them for an I-551 stamp in your passport for the duration of your visit. It's the best way to go, and then you don't have to worry about getting other people involved. :)

The risks are your AP is denied and your green card process is stopped due to abandonment.

Also if you get the AP card and you already left the CBP may not let you back in because you would have left before you had your AP and they may decide not to let you in because of the dates discrepancy which also results in your GC being stopped due to abandonment.

Do not leave without AP or green card.

Make an infopass and see if they can give you the stamp in your passport.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Ummm... An I-551 stamp is comparable to a green card. It's placed in the passport of an alien to show that they have permanent resident status before they receive an actual green card. Why would they give him an I-551 stamp if his AOS is still pending?

I think he might be able to get an I-512 advance parole document printed on the spot if he goes to an Infopass appointment and can show his travel is imminent.
