I filed I130 for my step son, and it got approved a couple of weeks ago. So the paperwork was forwarded to NVC, but since then I did not get any correspondence from them, and am trying just to get a general idea of how long it takes from this point to an interview. I tried examining the timelines but they are spread so widely, that I feel a bit lost.

Any help, please?

Unfortunately, there's been a bit of a backlog recently with NVC. It's been taking almost a month to get a case number assigned, compared to just taking a week like it did before. All you can do is keep calling NVC every day, speaking with an operator, and see if a number has been assigned yet.

Once you do get the case number, if you're on top of things, NVC can take 1 or 2 months for case completion. From case complete to interview date varies by country. For Canada, it's approximately 2 months, but I have no idea the timeline for Moldova.
