QUESTION ON INSURANCE FOR I-485 INTERVIEW

Hello All,

My husband has Accidental death and Dismemberment Insurance with me as the Beneficiary. Can this be used as a piece of evidence at the interview or does USCIS require life insurance also. My hubby and I are still trying to find a good life insurance policy.

I really think they are more concerned about income, disability insurance is good, but not life insurance. You will have to do an updated I134 at time of interview, so you have plenty of time !!

The person asking the question is not a K-1 and will not fill out a I-134 and is not asking about the Affidavit of Support.

OP - yes, that is good evidence of a bona fide marriage and can be used. USCIS doesn't strictly "require" any one document, but they rather look at the totality of your case and your documents.

thanks for you reply but I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying. Why would I file I-134?

Thanks Harpa Timsah!! What is OP? :-) We have other evidence too, utility bills, bank account, pictures, receipts of items purchased together, mail from friends addressed to us, residential lease et. etc.

I was just curious, because I read somewhere that Life Insurance was needed as one of the proof. Everything's happening so fast, I don't think we'll have Life Insurance by the Interview Date.

OP means (original poster) and don't worry about life insurance and such as Harpa said they are mo0re concerned about co mingling as in utility bills joint, bank accounts and such. We never had life insurance till just recently but we never had interview either but it was not asked to submit any such thing. You are fine and good luck.
