Is Fraud investigation standard for AP?

What happened with your phone interview? How did that go? Was it the same CO that did the last interview with your husband?

NVC JOURNEY
03/30/2011 NVC received case-04/07/2011 NVC Case Number Assigned
05/03/2011 CASE COMPLETE- In Que for INTERVIEW!!-05/17/2011 Received interview letter and info via email
EMBASSY JOURNEY
05/20/2011 Medical Appt/passed
06/15/2011 Interview result AP
06/21/2011 Submitted requested docs..under review
07/25/2011 CO called did phone interview result: PENDING MANDATORY AP/CO told us they have to do namechecks

03/07/2013 Case returned to USCIS waiting for NOIR/reaffirmation

04/18/2013 USCIS received case for review

08/19/2013 Received NOIR to respond by 9/18/2013

9/9/2013 Responded to NOIR/USCIS received documents awaiting response

9/20/2013 USCIS reaffirmed sent to embassy

1/04/14 Case opened for review

8/31/15 Interview- no questions visa approved on the spot

9/8/15 visa status issued

9/10/15 visa received

9/19/15 POE Charlotte

It was the same and it went well yes. But the CO mentioned the interview was for the purpose of investigating fraud. I thought it may be standard for the country of Pakistan, since fraud is probably very prevelant there. Does anyone know what would cause and embassy to believe you are committing a crime?

Can't say... the co that interviewd me on the phone was the same one that did Adil's interview he never mentioned anything about fraud in our case but im sure they questioned it as well...which lead to the phone interview for me. After he was satisfied with our relationship and told us our case was fine and complete at the embassy... nothing extra needed from us, no more docs or interviews and that now and he will undergo the name checks..he did go onto mention that the cases of pakistani men marrying women to get into the country is on the rise and they are watching it more closely. It also seems that if your a gori and married a desi then its also under some extra scrutiny...

What other red flags did you have? Are you older? Married within a short amount of time after meeting online? did his family attend any of the ceremonies? Any of these things could cause a red flag and there could be more I'm not thinking of right away.

Just be truthful and as long as you have a genuine case they will see it. I'm sure it will be fine...just stay strong and faithful...wishing you the best...

I could see why they would think these things. I am a gori :P

I am not older, we are very close in age...and we waiting 4 years to get married..so that shouldn't be an issue. I will definitely keep you updated and thanks again for the support!
