You can have him scan it, if there is not time to mail it. Have him sign in blue ink, and print it out in color. When my husband (fiance at the time) went for his interview, they did not even ask for the intent letter from me. They only had him sign the one from him that they include in 'packet 3'.

Hello Athena :)

The answer is yes. You and your fiancee need to sign a new letter of intent to marry with a current date. The signature must be original. In the I-129F instructions you can read: "original statements from you and your fiancee who you plan to marry"

In the interview stage, you use the same statement that you used when you sent the I-129F application. It is was original? Then must be original now, too. You run the risk of using one scanned instead of the original. So, I recommend that your fiancee send it to you as soon as possible. Maybe, other VJers gonna said I'm wrong but is just my humble advice. Good luck!!! Blessings :star:

It is not wrong that original signatures are needed for the letters of intent. However, for CDJ, the new letter of intent from the USC is not really important. Many things are consulate specific. I have read many reviews about Juarez, and our case is not alone in the fact that the beneficiary is not asked for a letter of intent from the USC petitioner fiance. Also, the beneficiary does not need to write up a new letter of intent for CDJ. There is one included in the forms that need to be filled out for your interview, form CDJ-402, which will you need to sign in front of them.

I suggested the scanned color copy for her USC fiance because it is highly unlikely they will even ask for it, but in the off chance they do, she will have something to give them.
