Hey guys :)

I have searched the forums already and found numerous threads, more pertaining to AOS and some with mixed answers. I'm hoping to get a specific reply on ROC with people who have had recent experiences with filing a child.

When I did my AOS, I rec'd two Bio notices, one for me and one for my K2 child that was attached to my application. They were scheduled for same day an hour apart. We went, and they made my 6 year old son take a photo and a thumbprint.

I now filed my ROC and paid the Bio fee for both of us. I just received my Bio notice, but no notice for my son.

Is a 7 year old required to do Biometrics for his ROC and 10 year card?

Or, do they just re-use his photo and information from AOS for his new card?

I just want to make sure, if nothing is needed, I will then just go to my appmnt. If he should have gotten a notice, I want to know now, as I can try to resolve issue before my Aug 12th appmnt.

If I should have gotten a notice, what do I do? Do I call? Where do I call? And then do I try to reschedule my appmnt to coincide with his?

Sorry, I'm so confused and the centre is far from us and don't want to drive out twice. I assume that If I just show up and if he needed to do Bio, if I have no notice I assume they will not do him?

I have seen people respond that Bio is not needed for Minor under 14 years of age, then why did my son do a Bio for AOS?

Thanks in advance :)

I searched it on the USCIS website...heres the link and below is an excerpt stating all applicants between 14-79 are required to have biometrics taken:

http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/PN_I-751_feb2807.pdf

The new process, as authorized in 71 Federal Register 15469 (March 28, 2006), requires all conditional

permanent residents to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) after filing Form I-751 in order

to have their biometrics electronically captured. An ASC appointment notice will automatically be sent by

mail to the applicant with the specific date, time and location for biometric processing. Biometric processing

includes the electronic capture of an applicant’s photograph, signature, index fingerprint and ten-print

fingerprints. The photograph, signature and index fingerprint are used to generate the lawful permanent

resident card, if the Form I-751 is approved. The ten-print fingerprints are captured for the purpose of

conducting a criminal background check and are processed for applicants between the ages of 14 and 79.

Applicants (except for “overseas applicants” described below) will no longer be required to submit passportstyle

photographs, since photographs will be captured at an ASC.

Thanks for the info. I was confused as my son did a Bio for his AOS... Photo and thumb print.

I assume they will then re-use his photo for his new card?

Anyone do their ROC recently with a minor under 14? Did they use the old photo?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping this is the case. I did call and they said no info showing on system, and that I have to wait 30 days from the time I got notice to follow up with them.

My kids (6 and 12) both had to go for biometrics. They filed together with my husband and got the appointment for the same day as he. They did early bio togehter.

Sib

Sib, was this for ROC? Not AOS right?

That's so weird, that it is not consistant? I just don't want to find out down the road that there is a delay or gliche because of this.

I guess I will wait the 30 days and follow up with a call just to be sure.

Thanks guys :)
