Parent's AOS but only got notice on mom's...

I mailed in my parent's AOS packets at the same time, I got the NOA on my mom yesterday but still nothing on my dad. The checks havent been cashed either... should I worry that his packet got lost? or is this typical?

If anyone has been through this before I would love some input

There's no way we can speculate based on the very little information you've given us. However, petitions submitted at the same time for the same sort of benefit are usually processed at approximately the same time. I sent three AOS packets for my wife and step-kids, and all were received and processed in on the same day. I got bombarded with nine text messages in less than 30 minutes.

Did you send both AOS packets in the same mailer? If so then your dad's didn't get lost. They don't lose packets in the USCIS mailroom.

Did you send separate checks in each packet? If so, and if there's something wrong or missing with your dad's packet, then they could return his packet while accepting your mom's. Were the checks for your mom's packet cashed?

I mailed them in separate envelops, with separate checks. My mom's checks have been cashed and she even already got her biometric appt letter.

I called yesterday and all they told me is that they cant research anything until after 30 days....
