My family and I have lived in the US for more than 10 years. In 2006, I started attending a school outside of the US and would come home about every 8-10 months. As per the 30 months out of the last 5 years requirement, it will be complete in Feb 2012. During all this time I plan to remain here in the US. I just wanted to know how strict they are about this and if there is anything else that I need to know before I decide apply again. Should I wait until Feb 2012 or can I go ahead and apply now because I don't plan on leaving or moving to go anywhere outside of the US. Also, my application was once already denied because I had applied for citizenship and left the US when I had turned 18, for an amount of 8 months or so.

If anyone can shed some light on about how I can go about this please let me know. Everyone in my immediate and non-immediate family are naturalized or born citizens (even my grandparents!). I am the sole green card holder.

When you return after being done with the university, cool off for couple of months and then apply for citizenship.

Moving to US citizenship forum.

I have been done. I've been back for over a year now.

I should've probably mentioned that before...

Does that mean I should go ahead and apply now?
