Hi everyone,

what's up with NVC? I called two times and two different operators told me that my petition doesn't go to NVC but straight to the consulate since that's what is written on my NOA2...I know for sure that this is totally not the case since all petitions stop by at NVC; It's this a new rule for certain consulates or these guys are simply clueless?

Thank you

I would like to know the same thing too. I called this evening and that is the same spiel that I got. While yesterday I called and someone told me that my approval notice wasn't the final one because USCIS is supposed to send me another notice that says my petition is being forwarded to NVC. I explained it was for a K-1 and the lady still insisted.

If there is anyone out there, who was not able to locate their petition by calling NVC but later received a notice from the Embassy that it arrived, please chime in. We are both confused and could use the help.

Thanks!

ciao Max,

I suggest directly emailing the Naples consulate. I have emailed them on several occasions and they have always replied within 1-3 business days and have answered any questions with the most current information. Note that none of the websites for US embassy/consulate in Italy are to clear about the process. They are filled with information, but are lacking in the exact procedure. Rather, I've gained more from this website!

You can email Naples consulate at: ivnaples@state.gov

Be very clear and obvious with your questions so they know exactly what you are asking. Better to be sure than vague and find out later the hard way.

good luck!

Ciao Ghepardo,

thanks I'll try that way even if I'm sure that if they had it already they would have sent me packet3 by now; Damn NVC's getting on my nerves...It's stupid all this waste of time and all they have to do is put the petition in a DHL box and ship it; They should let USCIS do that for these kind of petitions..mah. Thanks again!

We received our k-1 approval via email on 28th. I called NVC this afternoon to see if they've received our case and the operator told me that I should have the actual letter in hand and read the first paragraph to her!! She said that there are different instructions for different cases. What does the first paragraph of approval letter says? Is it possible that the instruction says that your case goes directly to the consulate?

Hi Ali, as predicted those operators were totally clueless. Just as for everyone else NVC got our petition on monday and today It was shipped to Naples; NVC should train their customer service properly instead of having them misleading customers with wrong informations..your petition will go there for sure as well,I hope It's gonna be a fast transition just as mine was!
