5 years rule application

Hello everyone,

As of this April I'm eligebile for filing n-400, the 5 years are 2006-2011. unfortunately, I havent filed a return for 2006 due to some problems with my business partner at that year. however, I did send $8000 towards my account after estimating my taxes for 2006 at a CPA office.I still cannot file due to some unresolved issues between me and the partner and the fact that he is nowhere to be found.

In the citizenship application there is a question regarding failure to file any return. How does it effect my chances with the citizenship application? Is there anything to do other than to file 2006?

You may want to work with IRS on actually filing this and see what they tell you. I believe personal taxes are asked about in N400, did you file those?

yes, all personal taxes were filed from 2003 to 2010 with the exclusion of 2006.
