Please entice me why the US Embassy Manila need to have your passport or get your passport delivered to your door step if it is already approved wherein they can stamp or directly print the visa on the passport and hand it over to you the same day? Why need to have it send by a courier service?

I would gladly appreciate your reply as my husband is upset on the process....

That is the process, in several countries (can't say all as I don't know, but many countries).

It's just more efficient actually. And allows to actually interview people and then do the stamp 'offline' (possibly after public attention). If they would put the stamp at that moment, your husband would still be waiting for the interview.

I don't think USEM use an ordinary printer just to print a Visa. If you are thinking it is just as simple as printing it right after the interview using a printer anyone can simply abuse it. And if that is the case I'm sure Pinoys can easily scam it or create a replica out of it.

The visa is attached inside the passport. They print the visa in the passport on a passport page, or they attach a new page in the passport. This is why they keep the passport. Your visa is not seperate from the passport. It becomes part of your passport record.

"Visas are not generally officially approved at the interview. They are recommended for approval. They have to go through another screening after the interview to make sure the papers are correct and complete and they fit the bill to actually be given a visa." I read this here on VJ. I think it is true, hence why some go on AP. It's not a big deal, they take it and its delivered to your doorstep or at the nearest office in about 10 working days.. :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png
