Another seemingly simple question, but just to make sure.

Is it a bad thing to submit more than 10 photos with my I-130 application?

Will it work against me or confuse/irritate the reviewer?

I know with the K-1 visa its a good idea to submit just a few good ones, HOWEVER

now I'm doing the CR1 - so I'm not sure if the same guidelines apply.

Ten pictures should be fine. We sent more than 10, but they were the pictures that would help our case the most. Pictures of you all with friends and family should definitely be included. Always think quality over quantity as these pictures tend to help your case the most.

The pictures we sent in were of our engagement party, us at a relative's wedding, our wedding pictures and pictures of our reception with the guests. The officer is not going to want to sift through 400 pages of you two together although I would send in one or two if I need to establish a timeline.

We also put a footer on the bottom of our pictures which had my name, my husband's name, our case number and the date when the pictures were taken so they could use it as a quick reference if they needed to.

Wedding: 7/10/2010

I-130 Sent: 10/08/2010

NOA 1: 10/20/2010

Touched: 10/26/2010

NOA2: 2/10/2011

NVC: 3/6/2011 approx.

No I-864, DS-230 Notification NVC says download files

Emailed Agent form: Response Confirming Change Arrived the Next Day

Mailed I-864 Package: 4/2/2011, Arrived 4/4/2011

DS-230 Received: 4/19/2011

RFE: 5/3/2011, emailed documents same day, email confirmation 5/4/2011

NVC Case Complete: 5/20/2011 (approx. called NVC and they said it was complete so don't know exact date)

Email with Instructions: 5/27/2011

Interview scheduled: 7/14/2011

Consulate had to reschedule, new interview 7/20/2011

APPROVED 7/20/2011

USA

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC
3/21/11 - I-130 sent to USCIS Lockbox, Chicago.

I sent in about 8-9 pictures with some info on the back of names, date and place and a Marriage Certificate copy as my bonafide evidence and I was approved in 77 days.

Wow, I think I've got the "CR1" paranoia I've been hearing about! I'm totally stressin' these details!

The photos have to be as per the specifications - they are picky. Write the name... on the back with a pencil or a felt pen.
