I am a USC and my husband is Canadian. We've been married just over a year and started the CR-1 process using a lawyer last September. We just found out a few weeks ago that I'm pregnant and am now about 9 weeks along. We've had some hang-ups with missing paperwork (UGH) and are waiting on news from the NVC. Does my being pregnant effect anything? Has anyone been through a similar situation? The Lawyer said they may want me to meet a higher income requirement and we shouldn't mention it (I'm using my mother as a financial sponsor) but I was already approved financially months ago. The stress is killing us, just looking for some reassurance/guidance...

If you have the baby before the interview it is considered a house of 3 including the baby. But you have a co-sponsor so there is no effect.

Having a baby isn't going to change anything or make it more difficult/easy. Do not hide anything in the process ever! be it a baby, pregnancy or anything else.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Being pregnant really won't affect your case at this point. If your child was already born, then yes, they would want you to have a higher income as you have another person in the household, but as you're still pregnant, you don't need to worry about that. Just stay relaxed and as stress-free as possible so your baby remains healthy :) Good luck!

There is no "preapproval" for the affidavit of support. The decision is made by the interviewing officer. As others have stated, if the child is born before the interview it only impacts your household count.
