i am filling out the visa ds 230 and the i864 while filling out the forms and trying to get the doc ready that are needed i see if you have been deported u need a i-212 application for permission to reapply for admission. does anyone know that i would have to do this form as well??

and where they ask for a police certificate is that a criminal background check? and i can get that from any police dept right??

COuld you explain your history so we can answer your question better? Since we don't know your history we cannot answer wether you need the form or not

my husband was deported by ice within a wk. we didnt know he was in deportable status until he went to renew his perm resident card. we were in the process of getting his papers fixed once we found out, then ice came along and put him in jail and deported within that wk. since being deported we had his charge vacated by the judge. and are filling i864 and ds 230 with the visa dept. hope that helps any.

Depending on why he was deported, he may have bans of various lengths, and may have to file for a wavier of inadmissibility (I-601) as well. It may be very simple or very complex or even impossible for him to return to the US, so please give us a complete time line of how many times he entered, when, with inspection or without, how long he was here each time, etc. The exact dates are crucial as to his options.
