Waiting 10 months for NOA2 - Can a Lawyer Help?

This is what we are planning to do. Fiance and I have decided if we haven't heard by a certain date (which isn't too, too far off) that we will just give up on this and I will move there and we will get married, and file for DCF for the CR/IR1 down the road...we needed to take some control back in this process and we feel good we at least have a time frame for us, even if USCIS won't give us one.

You´re right... we are thinking something like that, if we don´t hear something from them (maybe in a month) I gonna try to live in some place close by him and get married...we are waiting his degree... OMG... everyday I wake up thinking "When is gonna be" ...don´t give up...and lets thinking about good things ....you love each other this is the MOST IMPORTANT thing in the world!!! Incidentally, what was the result of your congressional contact request? Did they contact them and what was the result?

I was reading the interview with the former USCIS adjudicator on this site and it indicates that when a congressional inquiry is received, they get your file from the shelf immediately and process it. When a decision is made, they contact the member of congress with status.

You contacted your representative? What about one of your two state senators, especially the more senior one? I'd assume their staff would be better connected and know their way around.

My senator's congressional liaison on immigration contacted Vermont Service Center multiple times on my behalf. Originally, she was told we were in background checks and to check back in sixty days. Then she was told we had to wait until the sixty days from our RFE receipt expired. After that, she was told about two weeks ago that VSC would "expedite" our case. To me, expedite means within a couple days. It's been almost two weeks and that is the last I have heard.

I have been working with my state senator's congressional liaison on immigration, but no dice.
