I-130 Damaged Passport

I'm sending off my I-130 Application (ALMOST DONE!)

However, my passport is quite damaged (Gatorade spilled all over it, so its stained red all throughout and has fringes on the binding - we've been through a lot).

I'm sending in a certified vital statistics birth certificate, but is my passport ABSOLUTELY necessary as well?

Reason I'm asking is because I'm afraid they'll take one look at the passport stains and say "This is damaged, application refused."

Passport is also used to verify/confirm any trips to visit your significant other. Food for thought it is just a copy they don't that it is dirty copies can be done in black and white.

Well also - for some reason when I entered Mexico VIA Bus, they didn't stamp my passport.

I only have two stamps entering Mexico in the whole passport - yet I've been to Mexico five times in the past year. They might use this against me, right?

I am not sure about Mexico but each time i visit canada by road they never stamp in my passport, they just scan it.

If they scanned your passport i am sure that data is saved somewhere in their records electronically.
