Hello,

Our case has been approved. I just need to find out if they're going to issue my wife an IR-1 visa or a CR-1 visa. We got married back in 2008, but our marriage certificate wasn't issue until 2010. Does this mean we've been married for two years or not?

Hello,

Our case has been approved. I just need to find out if they're going to issue my wife an IR-1 visa or a CR-1 visa. We got married back in 2008, but our marriage certificate wasn't issue until 2010. Does this mean we've been married for two years or not?

issue date and marriage date are separate and would be a IR/1 since the marriage was 2+ years ago. The issue date can change anytime a document as it says is - issued.

Current cut off date F2A - Current

Dec 24 2012 - Case Complete

What date is shown on your marriage certificate?

I don't see anywhere where it says date of marriage on the certificate. There's a date of 02/10/2010 above mine and my wife's signatures. That's when the certificate was issue to us. The day and month are handwritten. The year is type. Lower left corner states, "Enter into marriage book on 02/10/2010".

We got married on January of 2008. This is what I put on my I-130. Also, under Visa Class on the pink approval sheet says IR-1 but someone told me this doesn't matter.
