Just heard from my DH - he passed his interview and will be naturalized the day before his Basic training graduation!!! I'm sooooo pumped to have this whole thing done and over with!! All these frustrations with USCIS and all those idiots - *never* have to talk to them *again*!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

:dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

Now hopefully the next time I do anything with any immigration, it will be the process for my Canadian citizenship!!! :D

(of course, because of the long drive I will have to make to see him, I've stayed up over 24 hours to get myself on a day schedule - but now after hearing all this good news, I cannot get to sleep!! haha!! But I don't care!!!! I'm so happeeeeee!!!! :D

Sorry...will resume acting like an adult now...maybe :P

Eligible for N-400 early based on Section 329 of the INA, Service During Hostilities

WOOOO YAY!

Congratulations you guys!!

Stupid question (sorry to be asking it in your thread too but), when am I eligible for naturalization? Is it 3 years from the date my first temporary green card was issued, or is it one year from when my 10 year green card is issued, I get confused!

lol

Thanks!! :D

If I'm not mistaken, if you're applying based on marriage its 3 years from the first green card...

Yes 3 yrs minus 90 days (you can apply as early as 90 days before the 3rd anniversary of the GC) since the first GC (also must be married 3 yrs, but your 3rd wedding anniversary is obviously before your first GC :) )

So....apparently I spoke too soon....

Just heard from DH - he was told that, while some members of his platoon will be naturalized tomorrow, he won't be! #######????????? I'm pretty pissed off about this, but also in a huge panic because he's *livid* and has talked about quitting now at the last minute!!!! I think I got him as calmed down as I could while I was on the phone, but I really hope he doesn't keep thinking about it and do something stupid...

Please, please, please, can everyone pray that he'll be able to calm down and we can address this problem tomorrow with cooler heads....*sigh* Really don't know what to do...of course there's not much I can do except pray and panic... :'(

Have to say I find the term 'naturalization' quite amusing...laugh about it with my husband all the time...how, being Canadian, I just feel 'un-natural'. hahahaha! I'm sure I'll feel much better when I become a citizen in 2 1/2 years! :)
