Our son, Shen, is one year old today, July 16th. He was born by C-section at 7:23 in the morning a year ago, and I was there to see it happen.

Five years ago I pretty much figured I wouldn't find someone special to marry, let alone have a baby boy. I sure wasn't looking for anyone. I had other plans for my life at that time.

But now there is this beautiful one year old baby boy, full of energy and silliness, and a smile that melts my heart. When he says "Dahdah" it is like a warm embrace to my heart too.

My wife and I will go to my mom and dad's house later today for a party for him. He will have a happy day there. I'm thankful for my son that I thought I surely would never have. He and my wife are my life.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday to your baby boy!!!

It's amazing how much life can change. If someone had told me 3yrs ago that I would meet an American, fall in love, get married and file for a visa that would take 8+ mths to approve so that I could move to the US to be with him - I would have told them they were crazy lol!

I'm nearly to the end of my visa journey - interview on August 9th - fingers crossed all goes well. But I am already looking forward to the next part of the journey - being with my husband, and with any luck, maybe in a couple of years I will be able to post something similar to yours! :D

Happy Birthday, Shen! :star:

Will you be putting him into public school when he's old enough?

Thank you..

As far as schools go, that is still a ways of in the future for us, but it is something my wife and I will pray about and plan together.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIDDO! hope u had a blast on this special day!!!

Thanks on behalf of Shen!

He didnt want to take his nap at his grandparent's house. He wore himself out. He enjoyed my mom's chicken, tomatos, potato salad, chips and ice cream cake. He got an airplane, red truck, a farmer on a tractor, a See n Say thing, and a new book from Dolly Parton, all of which he seems to thoroughly enjoy.

My son Shen... I love him.
