More progress. AVR still has me as no record. But as VJ suggested I kept calling. Today I called and the operator said she had my NVC number. I must say she was very pleasant after the cold dealings with USCIS!

She said I could use it on the travel.state.gov website. But that is the online pay system. What will happen now to let me know when to send the DS3032 and start paying the fees?

Once again, thanks to everyone who took the time to put the VJ guides together. They are an absolute lifesaver!

PS How do I show a timeline on my post?

Yeah NVC is whole different animal from USCIS. Look here:

Thanks folks. I just called NVC using the NVC case number. They said wait for the beneficiary to get an email which is what the shortcut guide says. The recording said allow 6 weeks, but I gather it's usually a matter of a few days depending on how busy they are. So it's back to the waiting game. Very frustrating but getting close. I hope to be booking my plane ticket soon to be there the day of the interview then the big send off with the family.

In contrast, a USC friend is married to a thai and resides there. The process for his Thai green card was quick and painless. Wis the US process was similar!

Thanks for the tips!

Congrats!

According to your timeline...I should have mine by next week sometime. Hopefully Monday.

Join this thread for your NVC process. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/318094-nvc-filers-july-2011/

Both of these guides I find are the most benefical to this process....

Not many people are wanting to stay in Thailand compared to America.... so the process can be much hassle free. You can also thank the terrorists of 9/11 of really making this process more difficult. Oh well, as long as we get thru legally and safe. That's all that really matters in my opinion.
