Yes - it is a rather common request in MENA countries.

What did you show them already as your evidence ?

Also, what did they ask you questions about ? This may give you a hint as to what they are looking for.

I showed call logs and 3 pictures. They told me it is Administrative Processing. And the counselor said, once the AP is done, I send my passport with evidence. Does this sound correct or is something wrong?

IMO, 3 pictures is just too little to present at the interview stage. Some people actually make albums of many pictures that could fit under the CO's window. I would have showed at least 20+ pictures (including pictures with friends and family), 10+ emails, 10+ IM conversations, and 10+ call logs. Did the embassy ask you to mail them anything?

ROC Timeline

8/1/12: ROC window opens
9/4/12: ROC packet sent
9/8/12: ROC packet delivered to VSC
9/12/12: Check cashed
9/14/12: NOA letter received (NOA dated 9/10/12)
9/20/12: Biometrics letter received (Bio appointment 10/15/12)
10/12/12: Early biometrics walk-in

4/27/13: RFE received

6/17/13: RFE response sent

7/1/13: ROC petition approved

7/5/13: GC received in the mail.

Well, ya but that is where I get confused. They told me to send more evidence to Washington along with my passport via Aramex. But only if I am approved.

Did they give you a white sheet of paper at the interview? (That's what they normally do when they request more evidence). You should probably e-mail them and see where they want the evidence mailed to. I've never heard of any evidence mailed to DOS/ Washington DC. Usually it's mailed to the consulate and the consulate sends the requested documents to the department it belongs to in the States. (someone with more knowledge on AP, correct me here if I'm mistaken please.)

Jdesigns, you need to email the embassy. I am sure that the information is supposed to be sent to the embassy via aramex. They would give you a particular company (aramex) to use if you were sending your documents to Washington. Aramex is the delivery service that the embassy in Amman uses.

Email them and ask them why your passport isn't showing up on the site. I am thinking that it is POSSIBLE that they waiting on your additional proof.

Usually they would ask for your additional proof...and then put you in AR while they review those documents

After they finish this, if they are going to send your info to DC for name checks, they do it after they approve you. You then go into AP and you can check this on the website.

Once the website says that you are approved, it tells you to send your passport via Aramex.

I wouldn't wait until next week to email them...email them today.

Waiting.....Waiting....waiting....waiting....and more waiting..........
