How long do we have to wait after applying for Adjustment of Status while on a Tourist Visa?

Do they actually tell you that you've been approved after your interview, I mean while you're still there? What kind of stuff do they ask?

By doing a quick search for AOS interview questions either here on VJ or through google you can find tens of posts about questions asked in an AOS interview. The questions are meant to provide the IO with confirmation that your marriage and relationship is valid. For people who actually have a real relationship and know each other, it shouldn't be hard in any way. Me and my husband were only asked how we met, and what each others birthdays are. Some have much more extensive interviews, and the questions can relate to anything in your lives - family, work history, educational history, normal life habits (who makes coffee, who sleeps in which side of the bed..). Every interview is different and there is no magical list of most common questions.

Sometimes you're told after the interview that the IO is recommending you for approval, other times they tell you they need more time to review your application and you will hear back from them. We were not approved on the spot, but got the card production email 2 days after the interview. Some have to wait several weeks or even months to hear back from USCIS after the interview. Again, it varies from case to case.
