Hello friends!

Once again we come to you for help filling up the paperwork :)

First let me fill you in: my wife and I are filling the I-864 and, since she doesn't meet the poverty limits yet and I'm not working yet, her grandfather is going to be a joint sponsor. So according to this we have to fill in two I-864, one stating my wife as the petiotioner -1a- and another one for the grandfather stating him as the only joint sponsor -1d-, Is that correct? Or should we just fill in one for the grandfather?

Also, while filling my wife's form, on the question 21 regarding the household size, it clearly states not to count anyone twice, so me being the sponsored person -21a-, the amount on the section for persons not sponsored in the affidavit; spouse -21c- should be zero, right?

Thank you very much for your help!

Yes, your wife marks that she is the petitioner on her form, and the grandfather will check the box for being the only joint sponsor on his form.

You put 0 in the space for spouse, that is correct.

You can check out the I-864 example form here on VJ. It can be helpful to look at.

Good Luck!
