As I mentioned about my hubby is going to have his formal interview tomorrow. He went to GuangZhou consulate yesterday to submit requested evidences. So we prepared as what other did too , such as 3 years of tax returns, 6 most newest pay subs , 2 passport pictures, updated I-864, other AOS statements. This is what they only took from my hubby: only interview letter , medical result, and 3 years of W2 < she threw back 3 years of 1040 to my hubby).she didnt take rest papers. SO does it sound right to us? We are so worried will we fail on interview tomorrow because they only took 2 things from my hubby? my question is why they didnt keep the newest updated i-864 from my hubby

Yeah it is kind of messed up that they changed things a bit and didn't really notify anyone. The i-864 and the latest year (2010) taxes and the medical are all they took from my wife a couple weeks ago. We were surprised that she never had to sign the DS-230 at the consulate as we thought this was a requirement, but no one else that day signed it and several people since then have reported the same.

What update i-864 were you trying to submit? If you did the paper process then they will have the i-864 from NVC. If you did electronic then they would have taken the original i-864, but you can't submit an updated one at this point. Not sure what would have changed since it was sent to the NVC.

Don't worry, they ask for what they need and that is what you should give them. If they didn't take something then they don't need it. Good Luck.

she didn't do EP,

IMO, hand over new I-864 to IO, first thing when at the counter, say 'Here is new I-864'

IMO, the screener was stupid, as you are a paper case, had change of tax year data between NVC submittal and document handover.

thanks for replies. I sent out the 1-864 with 2010, 2009 , and 2009 tax returns to NVC on March. When I read consulate request form about what papers we need to bring for interview. It says recent pay subs, 3 years of tax returns, and updated i-864. But the papers they took from my hubby yesterday that confused me , because they only asked for 3 years of W2.My hubby signed DS-230 when he was submitting materiel. As Darnell says, i will tell my hubby that he should ask the IO if he/she needs the new I-864 or not.I updated new bank/IRAs balances on the new i-864

wei - what news?

BLUE SHEET! it comes with a greed sheet, my hubby told me that they request tax returns from me.

After the formal interview, the Female IO handed a blue sheet to request tax returns( must be from IRS) forms from him, but my hubby was told he doesnt need another oral interview and passed, he only has to send back 3 years of tax returns with the blue sheet together to GuangZhou consulate. So i asked about it here early, and i got my answers from other VJ members here.I will go to my local IRS office and ask them for copies, and will send them back to my hubby tomorrow.

eek. is rare the actual returns are asked for, but it's happened before..

Will be better to go in person to IRS office, they have to provide some seal, IIRC.

Good Luck ! Should be an easy (albeit long) one !

I went to IRS office this morning, and asked them for 3 years of tax return copy. They just printed it out from computer. It includes 1040 and w2 wage. I asked them 2 times that is good enough for immigration propose. they said Yes. But they didn't put down any stamp or seal on all tax return transcripts. I also asked them about tax account ( long one). they said i have to send out request form to ask for it, and pay fees. So i stopped post office and mailed them out in express mail to my hubby. I hope he will get the PINK SHEET soon.

There is no cost for either if you call the IRS line at IRS contact info for tax account and return transcripts. The fee the customer service person referred to probably was for "exact duplicate" of your tax return. $59 I believe. Best of luck!!
