Hey, i'm new to this site but i love reading u guys question and respondes:)

Now my question is for a Vawa case... My mother and i filed a vawa sometime last year 2010. Hers was normal they asked her for RFE and she did than on 5/24/2011 she got approved. As for me i did file seprately due to my age at the very same time as her's and i was that time(23years old). They received everything and never ask for anymore documents by mail for me. But later on 5/23/2011.. they sent me a denial notice...stating they ask for a RFE from me. But the problem is my lawyers nor me recieved any request for evidence only RFE they recieved was for my mother. So now they filed a Motion to reconsider Appeal under special conditions(Mailing Problem). Its going to two months and no decision had been made....

I'm worried, how do it take for decision on appeals? And also has anyone been through this process?

If someone can help me i would greatly appreciate it:)

go to catholic charities in your area, talk to them about your case, they will be able to help you for free.find them on google search.good luck

The OP already has an attorney, so I doubt this information is going to be of much use.

To the OP: First, you posted your question in the K1 visa forum. I doubt there's many people in this particular forum that have any experience with VAWA self-petitions.

A motion to reopen is usually adjudicated within a few months. That doesn't mean you'll get a final decision on your case in that amount of time. If they agree to reopen the case it only means that they're satisfied that a different decision might be possible based on the new evidence submitted. If they agree to reopen the case then it could still be many additional months before they make a decision on your case. There's not much you can do other than wait.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
