Dear MENA members,

So what would you advise regarding WU money tranfer receits as evidence of continued relationship at Casablanca, Morocco? I tried to help her out at times. Do they look at this favorably or unfavorably? Any of you guys presented such money transfer receits to a CO? Any at Casa?

Thank you.

Moroccan-Wife --Please can you explain what you just typed so we can all understand?

Her lawyer told her that if the CO thinks the petitioner is being used, sending the receipts would confirm the suspicions of the CO.

Waiting.....Waiting....waiting....waiting....and more waiting..........

At best, sending money to some person across the atlantic only shows that you are sending money to some person across the atlantic. At worst it shows a possibly gullible american and might get your case poured over with a finer comb.

Not to hijack, but this is a related question. What about adding a Moroccan spouse to your bank account, credit cards, as a beneficiary to any life insurance or retirement savings, and so on? These are pretty standard things that many married couples do, but while they don't actually involve sending money overseas I've wondered if it would be best to wait on that stuff until after everything is done with immigration, contrary to the usual advice (given from members with SO's in low fraud consulates, or from male USC members with female beneficiary SO's) to commingle finances as much as possible. Any thoughts on this?

Salaam! Welcome back crossed fingers!

I did what I could before he got here. The lawyer said uscis would use that kind of stuff for approving application. Couldn't do anything about bank accts here as he needed to have ss# for that. Had him put on apt lease and changed my car insurance to reflect I was married and name him as a non-driver, non- resident family member so that he was somewhere on the policy. Also added him to renters insurance policy and life insurance. Casa didnt say a thing or ask anything about it.
