I just joined the site for a little help and some input. My father was deported two years ago back to the country of Kosovo. He came here with a visa and overstayed his visit for 23 years. He has a wife and three kids including me who are U.S citizens. My mother along with her lawyer filed an I-130 which was approved. The National Visa Center completed my father's petition and sent it to the American Embassy in Skopje. He went for a visa interview in February and ever since then we haven't heard anything. I have a NVC Case Number. Is there a way i can call the embassy to see what is going on with his case? I know that his Visa was denied since he was removed from the United States. We are still waiting to here what is going on, so we can start the appropriate paper work and waivers such as the I-212 and the I-601. They told my father that it would take 60-90 days. Its been longer, it is now June. Has this happened to anyone? What is the process?

Petitioner needs to contact DOS and find out where the case is at.

He has been denied, there is nothing "going on with his case". Unless and until you file the I601 and the I212 there will be nothing going on with his case. He should have gotten a piece of paper that spelled out why they denied him, of course he should know this but that paper can be copied and attached to the I601 packet. Anyway now you pay the fees and submit the I601 and I212.

Its not just a form its a big legal deal if you want your dad back in US. So get an attorney and do it right.
