Already married but need CENOMAR

Hi Everyone,

I attended my wife to her CR-1 interview this morning here in Manila. The CO mainly asked questions about my wife's kids. She has two children her daughter just turned 8 and her son will turn 9 in one month. My wife was never married to their father and like me this is first marriage for both of us. After asking about her kids and seeing their birth certificates she typed to her computer for a moment and then told my wife she needs to get a new CENOMAR. We showed her the one my wife got two weeks before our marriage last June but the CO didn't accept this.

The CO kept her passport and we were issued a white sheet with CENOMAR checked. We then dropped off the 2GO mailing info and left.

The CO never said we are approved but they did keep her passport. I'm wondering if my wife is approved. We are sad because we are looking to go to USA together but I'm not sure if I can stay long enough because we don't know when she will get her visa.

Do you think we are approved?

its more likely u are approved!! if your wife never been married before then u dont need to worry...they're just going to review her CENOMAR if shes really never married...and if they will find out that shes not then she will be fine...just Pray..i am a filipina too..

When I went to my interview, they didnt ask it but I have it on hand.

CENOMAR will prove that if you guys are married, it will show in there her name and her status as married to you and the date of marriage. An evidence that your marriage was registered.

Once you submitted it, just try to call the embassy and in some cases it will only take 2 weeks and u get the visa. Im pretty sure it got approved, they already took her passport.

Thank you for the replies. We already called NSO and they said they will deliver to the Embassy next Friday. We are hoping it won't take too long after that!

Just one more question do you think we will still have to wait 5 to 10 days from when the Embassy receives the CENOMAR or does the 5 to 10 days start today after our interview? Thanks again for your help!
