Look over the forms to find what he has to sign. There are not too many. He should go & get his shots at a local doc to save money making sure he gets the paper work showing what was done. About a month prior to the interview he will need to begin to get the police report. He could go about that same time to have the medical. The medical can be done in one day so there is no hurry. Make sure his passport is valid well into the future. Look over the packet 3 items. Find them by googling Packet 3 Bangkok I think or on the embassy site.

Ni-ing look very closely at the Instruction for “K” Visa Applicants (checklist). There was one in there that I thought was weird "verification of unmarried status" that Pui had to get. Since she was never married before she had to go to the amphoe where she was born and bring 2 family members and the village leader to sign a document that she has never been married. Don't know if that applies to Ice but I thought I would give you a heads up.

@Andy- Yes! We did see that. We're not exactly sure where to get that, but we know that we will have to get it. Ice is going to talk to the document translator about it. Does he have to bring family? He and his family are not on good terms.

Yes he will have to bring 2 family members. I think he can bring someone else other then his mom and dad. The amphoe is I think kind of like county seat here. He will have to go to the amphoe where he was born. I just talked to Pui and if you have any questions about it I can give you her phone number if you want it just pm me.

Grandpa, grandma, uncle, aunt, cousin, brother or sister? If that will not work maybe somebody else has a suggestion. Is there 1 or 2 family members that he talks to that could go with him?

What do you need to translate? The birth certificate? If it is the birth certificate Ice can do it himself if he knows both thai and english. Or if you know someone who knows both thai and english they can translate.

If you have it translated you just need to have the following:

Certification by Translator

I typed name , certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and type language languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled name document.

Andi is correct in evey way. I do not know about these letters about single status because I didnt need one. I do know there is no need for a translation service. Packet 3 consists of forms in English.

Anything submitted must be in English. You may be talking about the birth cert or this letter. Whatever it is it must be translated into English. Do not pay any service. Where he lives there are many people that can do it if he can not. ICE can do it himself as Andi says.

If nothing else tell him to go to the Ampur to ask who could sign the letter. Its Thailand & there is always a way.
