Hello people!

I received my NOA1 on the 22nd of Feb 2011. From what I've seen online, a lot of people got their NOA2 after 2 or 3 months wait. Some of them aren't even expedited. I know it has only been 3 months for us but I would like to hear something very soon.

I was wondering what happens or what USCIS is investigating during the initial review. I have lived in 3 different countries since my childhood. Does this have anything to do with slowing the process? I'm so jealous of those who got their NOA2 (those who filed after me). I hope someone can help me out on this because I'm tired of wondering about what is going to happen and tired of looking every day if I have received NOA2.

Hi, If you will fill in your timeline you can the see an estimated date at the bottom of that page that shows when you might be receiving your NOA2. Also here's the service center by state list.....Good Luck

I currently live in Korea and my fiance lives in Georgia, Columbus. We filed from Georgia. We sent our petition to Texas.

Vermont is slower....California office is the ones approving in 3 months.....everyone has a different wait you never know.....We are at 7 months and some others are at 8....but some are getting approved in the 5 months...its all a chance...definitely update your timeline but this is concrete!

Your petition would have been forwarded to Vermont from Texas. You should change your service centre to Vermont and fill in your NOA1 date on your timeline. It will give you an estimated date range for your file to be adjudicated. Like the other poster said.. the wait time is different for everyone. 5-6 months seems to be the average.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators
