Hi all!

Hope you are fine.

We got the NOA2 on May 23rd (Yupeeeeeee) and we have already received the new case number from NVC. Our case has not been forwarded to the consukate yet, we are waiting for that to happen. :)

Anyway, my question is: My fiancé is gathering all the documents for my interview here in Brazil, and he searched for the I-134 Affidavit of Support Form on USCIS website, and the form available there has the expiration date 05/31/2011 (YESTERDAY).

Here is the link to the form with the expirantion date 05-31-2011:

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134.pdf

On the edition information for this form on USCIS website says: 05/21/2010. Previous editions accepted.

So in your opinion, what should we do? Since we had problems on sending the outdated I-29F on the beggining of our journey, I am so worried that this will cause a problem on my interview.

Please your comments on this.

Thanks in advance! :)

Fill out that one, keep it just incase. Wait for the new one to be released. If it doesnt come out by your interview, they have to accept that recently expired one. I think that makes sense.

I just had this argument with my fiance. She was so nervous because I had just sent the form to her and our interview is on the 14th of June. Anyway, the OMB number is simply a version release/expiration date but has nothing to do with the validity of the content. Until a new version is released and there has been sufficient time to replace the expired form, the older form is still active. No worries :)

One more thing, I doubt if the consulate will let you know when they receive your case, I am sure they already have it as most cases are sent electronically. They emailed my fiance with an interview date then told her that our case was received 3 days after arriving at NVC. One thing is for sure, you are very very very close to being together :)

I've edited the title of this thread so as to not give folks the impression that the form is expired - indeed the date you are referring to is NOT an expiration date for the form. This OMB date may trigger USCIS to review the form and decide if a new revision is needed - but that has not happened as of now (may/may-not happen).

The form's revision date (seen in bottom-right of forms) is the important date to notice - in this case it is actually 05/21/2010 and is the latest revision.

No new version (revision) has been propagated and USCIS's site tells you what revision date is currently being accepted and if previous version (if any) are/are-not accepted (which in the I-134's case, previous versions are accepted; if someone has one laying around - some Embassies still have older version I suppose).

Hi,

The last I-134 affadavit of support released just expired on May 31st, 2011. Does anyone know how soon we can obtain the updated I-134? The only reason I am asking is I need to send it to my fiancee within the next two to three weeks at the most.

Thank you.

Well, that's good to hear. It is confusing as the form does indeed call it an expiration date and we have personally seen how picky they can be on those simple things...I guess we will continue on with the currently posted I-134 form then. Thanks for the help and info!!
