When going to an interview dress smartly.

Clean shirt, slacks, shoes. Think you are going to see grandma, or an important job interview. Formal attire is also too much.

Example:

Jon showed up at his interview wearing expensive leather shoes and around his neck, a chain with solid gold marijuana leaf dangling from it. The officer took one look at this and went right into questioning him as to weather he had ever tried, abused or sold drugs. Jon wouldn't admit to anything, she referred him for another medical exam. The doctor found evidence of drug use in Jon's bloodstream, and he was denied the visa.

So don't wear anything that will attract attention.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I agree with this, but think job interview, grandma might live at the beach. LOL

OP wasn't asking for personal opinions of what to wear for the interview, he was asking if the manila embassy has a specific dress code

I'm sure there is no denial based on attire.

there is really no dress code but it will be better if she is dressed even just "semi-formal",you know, more presentable, its a very important inteview and it will be nice if youre dressed properly...when i had my interview in manila, february this year (im a US permanent resident now,) well i was wearing,a skirt 3/4 sleeve top with collar, high hill shoes,my hair is nicely tied, wore light make up....well,there are some people wearing denim and collared top and it was okay with the embassy...i guess formal attire would help a little bit (impressions is important)...

and most of all tell your fiance to always wear a smile...it would help her lessen the nervous feeling she would surely have....i swear i was so nervous when i had mine, its wasnt really obvious to other people, only if they know,my hands/feet are as cold as ice,my knees are super weak and i swallow my saliva every other 3 seconds........whoa...i can immagine your fiance's face...hehehehe

good luck

that's what happens when you listen to friends, family and neighbors. They all think they are experts. Usually they heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend, etc.

I would agree no sandals, shorts or sleaveless shirt/blouse, just like the government offices in the Philippines. I couldn't enter the immigration office with shorts.

I would say business casual: not too dressy, not too casual
