From Nigeria with love/ airfare, one way or round trip?

Hello VJ members,

My fiance and I have been checking airfares from Nigeria to California, where he will be traveling to soon. The round trips are cheaper than one way tickets by far.

My question is, if we purchase round trip ticket and he gets here, will he be questioned at the POE, will it be a problem? Will they question him why he has a ticket to go back, when he is to get married and stay here permanently?

If purchasing the round trip ticket will cause problems, then we rather pay the extra price and avoid uprising issues and questions with immigration officers. What are your thoughts on this?

Either way is fine as long as the RT starts in Nigeria. Call delta directly as they don't always publish the best price one way online ( darned scammers print out examples so they make it way way high online usually. At the time Joseph cam Emerites was the cheapest one way and cheaper than RT. If you are paying make sure you make arrangements to have your card /ID validated so he doesn't get turned away at the airport for not having the card used

No problem at all. I just purchased my fiance a RT ticket. After he arrives in the US, I will cancel the returning ticket. POE will not question your ticket. If they do, he can say that if he decides not to get married then he has a ticket to go back home. Just purchase whatever is cheaper.

You are no longer able to buy international online tickets from Delta (including Nigeria) except from certain countries.

good.gif Agree, make sure you validate your credit card so there will not be unforseen problems at his time of departure.

You can buy a return ticket without problems. Once you're in the US call the airline to cancel your return flight..that's it
