I'm petitioning for my wife and her daughter (15 years old). I'm assembling the I-130 package and I have a few questions:

Question 1: The g-325a for my step daughter should be signed by her mother, with the word "mother" written under the signature. I'm pretty sure that's what the lady at USCIS told me, but I had trouble understanding her.

Question 2: The only evidence of bonafide marriage I am providing is a copy of deed to our house. I've owned it for many years, but will have a new deed in a few days showing joint ownership. That should suffice, correct? We have only been married for about a week. I do have photos of us together in Brazil prior to our marriage, as well as phone bills showing calls and things like that. Is any of that necessary, or should the deed do the trick.

Question 3: In the cover letter I should specify what I'm applying for. That would be a CR1 for my wife but what do I say about her daughter? I know I need to have an I-130 and a g-325a for her daughter, but is it a CR1 that I'm after for her daughter?

Thanks,

John

Answer 1: I don't know.

Answer 2: Send in the photos and phone bills, along with plane boarding passes, passport stamps, and anything else, including your lease, which establishes you had a relationship before your marriage. They want relationship evidence, not just marriage evidence. :)

Answer 3: It's not exactly that, but my Google-fu is failing me ATM. Sorry. -_-

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

Sorry, I can't answer 1 or 3 either.

But for 2, I agree with sending a little more than just the deed. You don't need to go overboard, but I would include a few photos taken at different times (during visits to each other, the wedding, etc. – it's also good to have one or two showing you two with family members or friends) as well as evidence of how you maintain your relationship (evidence of your visits like everything CanadaLove mentioned, a few pages of phone/email/Skype logs showing your relationship over a period of time, etc.). That's probably all you need.

1: To the best of my knowledge minors do not need G325a. My own children didnt. Its need ed for husband and wife not children

2: You've been given good advice from the earlier posts

3: Just say immigrant visa for both, you dont need to specify their categories.
