Hi Guys,

Or visa has been approved but had to wait to send in passport to them because I was going on a flight the day after interview! So I sent in my passport yesterday and waiting for them to issue my visa. I want to book my flight and my question is, do I have to go through Dublin or can I fly from another airport in Ireland? I've heard someting about Dublin being a POE but i'm not sure if this means its the only airport I can use.

October 8th- Sent off K-1 visa package

October 21st- Received email saying we have been assigned to CSC

October 28th- Waiting on NOA1

October 29th- NOA1 received!!!

March 16th 2011- Received email saying petition for fiance has been approved and that NOA2 is in the mail!

April 12th 2011- Waiting on lettter with interview date from Dublin Embassy. Medical scheduled for 26th April

You can fly from any airport you like. Dublin has pre-screening for immigration there, so is considered a POE (a rarity - as you know usually immigration and customs are done on US soil) but you can use any POE you like, and fly from any airport you like. If you fly from Cork then your POE would be at whatever is your first airport stop in the US. Good luck.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Congratulations

The visa isn't specific to any POE, so you can come from any airport outside of the US to any airport within the US. It's all the same. As a side note, I don't think you can fly to the US from Cork, can you? I thought only Shannon and Dublin had tran-Atlantic flights. Or maybe that's just with Aer Lingus?

Thanks everyone. We can fly from Cork to Heathrow to Phoenix and leave our baggage on the whole way. Its really cheap too. Its not direct but I'm not pushed about that! Getting to Dublin for a direct flight would be more stress than taking a flight from Cork to Heathrow!!
