Signed, but unfortunately I don't think it'll make a difference. The fact that there were only 20,000 winners announced you think if they had wanted to they could have just given us all our place and then selected another 70,000 at random - but the fact they've chosen a complete redraw already leaves us SOL.

ELectronic petitions are not valid 99% of the time and because of that no one gives them any weight. Unfortunately the DV lottery is all about immigration balance and it has already been decided that it was unfarily weighted in favor of the first few days of entrants, which favors internet rich countries. So adding 70k more to the first 20k doesn't fix things as there are actually only 50k visas available.

They always offer 90-100,000 people the chance to put applications forward, then 50,000 visas are actually given out for various reasons - mainly because people don't take their application further or don't meet various criteria. To me, offering a further 80,000 chances to folks and processing the first 50,000 would be the fairest way forward.

Doing that wouldn't correct the unfairness. Lets say the first 20thousand where all woman. ( and have the lowest 20k nummbers ) Giving out 80 K to the correct ratio is still going to give 20k woman an advantage. Maybe the fair thing would be to move the first 20 K to the end of the line and they can get the leftovers. That way the beginning of the line is the right mix and if there are leftovers the improperly balanced ones can get them.

It would, however, address some of the unfairness of telling 20,000 folks they've been selected and then taking that away.
