I might be wrong  , but it looks like OP is I-130 filer for CR1/IR1 (like me) and that thread is for AOS.

No updates yet. I still got that feeling that somewhere within a month some news will be brought.

I think, early May i-130 petitioners may here something even at the end of July. I'm preparing myself for the end of August. I have everything done, except AOS (affidavit of support) papers: employment letter, pay stubs:

1. 1040 form with all attachments has been scanned (my wife is going through Montreal).

2. Joint e-mail box for immigration purposes was successfully created on Yahoo! today  . So I can do e-mailing on behalf of my wife B-)

3. OPTIN e-mail almost ready. Just waiting for the case # :D

DS-260 (DS-230) papers also almost ready. So it feels kinda boring -_-

Hi nickky!

I am not a CR1 OP..I am adjusting from a B1/B2 visa..I know kinda risky but we can prove the legitimacy of our marriage that it was entered into in good faith. I have read on here that have been numerous successful approvals such as ours so hopefully on July 25, with God's grace, we get my green card application approved.

Hopefully, next week I get my EAD card too..:)

Prayers to you too!

Hi, gap1!

The EAD (Employment Authorization Document) is for work while AP (Advance Parole) is for travel, different purposes. Most applied for both EAD and AP together and recently USCIS has issued both in one card if one has applied for both benefits same time. I didn't apply for AP, just EAD along with my AOS so I will only be getting EAD card. AP has a separate fee. I didnt think I'd be travelling anywhere soon til I get my GC..:)

Have a good 4th of July!

Hi everyone,

My husband is also a May filer, our stuff arrived on May 25th and receipts have a May 27th date, however he has not received a biometrics appointment yet. I called USCIS after 30 days but they did not seem very helpful. A service request was placed. Is anyone else in this situation? Is there anything else I can do because my husband has a great opportunity to participate in a training program starting in August but he needs the EAD.

Thank you!

Ha, no I'm aware of what they are for. I just meant that they normally arrive together (same card). I haven't heard of one being approved before the other.

Hi Patience!

Sure like your name and we need more of that here..ha!

Sorry didnt have that experience but since aservice request was placed ,pray that will speed up the biometric appointment. Hopefully no RFE. IF there is, hope it's something you can send back to them ASAP. YOu know that soon as you get the biometric appointment you can try a walk in? Some say it did speed things up for them. From what I gathered though didn't make much difference based on the timelines I saw here. Still worth a try. Then when you get biometric done, you can call your Congressman to try to fast track your EAD so your hubby can attend the training. I saw some successful stories about this on here.

Good luck..hang in there! I know it can be a nerve-wracking ride.

Have a good 4th of July!

From all of the timelines I have gathered, doing an early biometrics appointment does not speed up your EAD approval. Seems like the best determinant of your approval is your Applicant Receipt date. If you are applying for an I-485 and I-765 concurrently, an RFE for your I-485 does not slow down your I-765 since they are separate applications. Also, from what i have gathered, is that this upcoming week may be the adjudication week for early May filers (first week in May). Im sure hoping so!

Your case has already been adjudicated, you've been approved for your EAD. Adjudicated just means for a judgment to be made about a pending case. Hopefully the rest of us will hear good new soon!!

I beg to differ, I have noticed quite a few cases here where walk-in biometrics speeds up the process because for those cases they ended up getting their interview appointment letter before their actual bio appointments happened. Also for those who got their congressmen involved to speed up the EAD process, they had to prove that they had already done the biometrics. So I think it does have an effect to an extent. But if the local office is very backed up, my guess is that it doesn't matter then.

AOS packet sent : 05/19

Received by USCIS: 05/21

NOA Date: 06/21

NOA Hard Copy: 06/26

New I-765 sent: 07/08

Biometrics done: 07/15

RFE- Mail: 07/28

RFE Sent back: 08/02

USCIS acknowledged RFE: 08/05

2nd I-765 rejected: 08/07

3rd I-765 filed: 08/08

I-765 received by USCIS: 08/24

Interview Notice set for 10/14: 09/08

I-765 approved finally!: 09/14

Aren't AP and EAD the same card? I always read about that coming together.

I applied for AOS, EAD and AP all at the same time and got three separate I797's for them. The Case number for the AOS is updating online and says that it's been transferred to csc. The Case number for the AP updated and says that it's been approved. The case number for the EAD hasn't updated at all so I guess I'll have to wait to see what I get when they send it. I'm hoping you're right and I get the combo card. :)
