Alright, so now that I've changed my interview date to this Monday, I've put myself in a little panic. I'm 99% sure I have everything I will need, but I'm a worrier who needs reassurance. Can anyone who's gone through Montreal recently let me know if there's anything missing from this list that they asked you for?

Here's what's in my accordion file folder:

  • Passport.
  • Packet 4 letter.
  • Interview confirmation page as well as proof I've paid the $350 fee.
  • I-134 form, original, signed and dated.
  • I-134 supporting evidence - 3 years of tax returns, a letter from his employer, paystubs from January-April.
  • My long form birth certificate, original and copies.
  • My police certificate, original and copies.
  • Medical results.
  • Letter of intent from my fiance, original, signed and dated.
  • Evidence of ongoing relationship - boarding passes, emails, call records.
  • Copies of everything sent in Packet 3 - DS156, DS156k, DS230 (Part 1 & 2) copy of biographic passport page, confirmation of DS160 filled out.
  • 2 passport pictures of me.
  • Originals of proof sent in with I-129F application.
  • Copy of I-129F petition.

Anything I'm forgetting? Thanks in advance. :)

Do you have a new copy of your letter of intent?

I can't remember if we were asked for both or not, but we provided both.

So glad you're getting so close - don't sweat it!

No, I don't have a letter of intent for myself. Are people often asked for both? I assume me showing up to my interview shows intent! If people think it's required, I'll print one off and sign it.

we did just to be safe. we were so terrified during our interview i can't remember what we were asked for when :hehe: you need both letters in the 129F so, better to have and not need than need and not have

I typed up a letter of intent for myself but they never asked for it. I know everyone is different though. The girl asked for my fiancee's letter and laughed because he went into great detail. She said they are normally 2 lines line, his was like, 3 paragraphs and almost a full page!

I brought everything you have listed and was asked asked to show my long form birth certificate and give them a copy. The original I-134, and a copy of his last tax return, his letter of intent and I think that is it...I remember thinking, really? I brought all this? But it is better to have too much! The girl commented on how organized I was.

The interview lasted all of 3 minutes. Was super easy and I was so scared for nothing!

Thanks very much for the info! Puts my mind at ease. :) I think it's just to the point where it's so close and I'm having a hard time believing that this awful part is almost over.

Looks like you got everything covered!

I had both letter of intent but they only ask for my fiance's. I would still bring both just in case.

Best of luck and breathe, you'll be approved and out in no time :)

You will be good just try and relax.

You don't need a letter of intent for yourself, its not on the checklist and you being there in person is your intent.

The guy asked me if I intended to marry my fiance within 90 days.

Were there any previous marriages for either of you? Thats the only thing I had that you dont have listed.

Honestly I lugged all this stuff to the interview and they took less than half of it.

We have it a little easier than alot of couples I think since we're Canadian and our 2 countries are so interchangeable.

Have you decided what youre going to do about your appointment time? Are you going to try and show up first thing in the morning?

Good Luck! Though I honestly think you don't need any luck lol.

Nope, no previous marriages for either of us. :)

I am going to show up first thing in the morning. Everyone tells me it's first come first serve, so my appointment time shouldn't matter. Hope that's the case!

Thanks for the reassurance!

Good luck Coconuts! You'll see, when you leave you'll be thinking "I was this stressed-out for that???" I remember the guy asked me why Chris wasn't there, but didn't make a big deal out of it, I think it was just to make conversation. I was asked for MY letter of intent, so bring one just in case... Very simple and pretty quick considering the wait time before the actual interview date
