Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 27, 2011
Embassy Review : I went for my interview Aug 25th. I arrived at the doors just after 630am, there was a gentlmen there ahead of me... he is on VJ too. (I just read his review and I am sorry I didn't get your name LOL) It helped to have someone to talk to to pass the time. Other people started showing up, got to know a few others, it seemed I was the only one doing the K1 there that day! The experience was intresting and I agree with everyone it is easy but it is very hard to hear when they annouce anything or some of the people behind the windows are hard to hear too. So sit right in front of the two small screens that show the numbers (C1 or 2 etc..) and what number window to go too. It is right in front of the chldren's play area and by the elevator.

So when I was called to the 1st window, the guy I had, I couldn't hear him, so I had to keep asking him to repeat himself (so I think that set him off) For he wasn't a very nice man to me.I had messed up and registered wrong (my birth month) and he said rudely how do you not know your birhtday ("who doesn't know their birthday?" he repeated again snidely) I tried to explain the situation and he then said I didn't pay online...I said YES I did and said it was in the paperwork he just gave back to me saying it wasn't in it. I went through it myself and sure enough it was there. I passed it back to him and he just grumpled something. Sent me back to the waiting room.

But good news is that the rest of the people I dealt with were very nice and helpful I had the dreadlock lady and she was very buisness like, but kind and listened very intently. So just want to thank everyone before me and their reviews that are more in deepth and detailed. Thanks for everything.

PS. I really hope the girl (didn't get her name either) that was denied, she had her interview before me, gets her greencard and it all gets resolved for her
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
