I'm from Brooklyn and my interview was at Federal Plaza (Manhattan), and my oath was at District Court in Brooklyn (last Friday). In the oath ceremony, the person sitting on my left was from Flushing, Queens and the one on my right was from Astoria, Queens. I have no idea how these are decided. But don't worry und viel Glück!

I filed N400 in July and completed my FP on 8/23/11. I am waiting for Interview from Fairfax, VA office. The web site shows lot of backlog in this office. Does anyone can give educated guess when I can expect interview. I would like to hear the experience of people who filed in May from Washington DC/Fairfax VA Office. I read few people from May just received the interview notice. Anything I can do to expedite the process? Thanks

I just got an email notification that "Your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION is now scheduled for interview. You will receive a written notice with a time and place for your interview. You should receive this notice within 14 days".

I'm from Brooklyn too. Don't worry, it just takes longer in NYC. It's not unusual to wait for 3.5 to 4 months for the IL. Yours should come soon.

So I went to my re-interivew today. I waited there for about an hour before I was called in. It was a different lady and she seemed to be very nice. She just went over the checklist on the docs the previous officer requested then said she will review my whole file later since this was her first time seeing my file but from a quick review she think everything is in order. She said I should hear from their office within 2 weeks.

So now let the waiting game begin again!

I received an email notification that my case is on Post Decision Activity where it is under review with a supervisor.

Here's the actual message:

Your case is under review with a supervisor.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
