I see a lot of "touched" updates in signatures and such - how do you know when your case has been touched?

I signed up for email notification the USCIS website - but when I check my status it just gives a general "your in review"...am I looking in the wrong place?

You need to create an account on uscis.gov and log into check case status and once you do that you will see a last updated column and when that date changes in that column that means you have been "touched" good luck on your joutney

When you log in to the USCIS website (you need to have signed up for an account and entered your case #), there will be a 'last updated (mm/dd/yyyy) column. That is the last time your case was accessed/touched. When the date changes, you've been touched.

Keep in mind, some people never get touches.

And touches don't really /mean/ much.

For instance:

I got the approval e-mail the 04/28 with an approval date of 04/27, but had no touches since the 22nd of February.

When you check your status on the USCIS website there will be a date listed that says last updated...if this date changes/updates you've been touched.

No Your in the right place if you signed into the USCIS website. First and most Important is they Cashed your Check. Your are automatically in the System. Don't fret by not seeing a Notice soon. It can take 2 weeks to 2 months. If they cashed your check, you are in the System. Also you can call 1-800-375-5283 for the Automated System which you already know.

The NOA1 is the start.

if u have an account there, then u sign in, and u check ur portfolio - and there u will see the date when it was last updated, that's ur touch. some people don't get any 'touches.' honestly, i don't think it matters if u have 10 touches or none :) our petition has been touched once, and here we are, over the 5 month mark, still waiting for something to happen

My two cents worth. Especially with a K-1 status, rarely does anyone get “Touched.” The term “touched” means that a status change or update was added internally to your case status. You can see a change or “Touched” event when the date and/or term of status have been altered when you visit your case number at the USCIS Web site. For reasons unknown to me, you cannot always count on seeing a status change on-line. It’s best to reply on (797C) NOA letters from the USCIS to determine the next step in your case. This will be a bit different when you engage toward your AOS. With the AOS there are several other forms and factors to check upon. For now, you can watch the USCIS Web site for your NOA2, if you have not received it as of yet. Once you receive your NOA2, then I would wait at least 10 to 15 business days, and then check in with your embassy to see if they have your K-1 packet. Based on just about every post out here I have never seen too much weight or credit given to being “touched.” May God Bless! Here is the USCIS site link if you do not have it: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do
