Help!!

I had my interview for my K1 visa on 19th April in Sydney where they told me that they had everything they needed and that my visa was approved.

They have me a piece of paper that said 'Congratulations! Your visa has been approved' etc and said that it would take 1-3 days to process and mail out to me.

It has been 2 weeks now and I still haven't received my visa. The express post tracking number says 'no entries found' when I try and track it, so I am freaking out that they haven't even sent it yet or it has been lost in the mail!! I have a flight booked for Wednesday 4th May (2 days away!) and have no idea if my visa is coming.

I have emailed the Consulate 3 times and have had no response. Is there any way to get in contact with someone to find out what is happening? I need to change my flight, but have no idea when my visa is coming :( We are supposed to be getting married on Friday!

You can call DOS and ask the status of your visa. 1-202-663-1225 Press 1 for main menu then press 0 to speak to a person. Hope this helps.

Hi, yea just call the embassy first thing tomorrow morning to follow-up!

you can also post at regional discussion - Australia & NZ forum, some may be able to specifically provide inputs based on their Sydney consulate experience?

I have checked the timeline for Australia k-1 visa with interview date around same time as yours, and they got the visa approximately within

the range of 2-10 days...

Hope everything will be okay and good luck!

Ok this just happened to another person on here from OZ and because he told them he was not marrying till June they obviously put his visa on a hold non urgent pile till he emailed them and got it last Wednesday his interview was the 2th April. He got it just after Easter 27th.

When did you tell them you were marrying as they always ask when are you leaving? You need to keep emailing them and if they have made a mistake I promise you it will arrive in 24 hours. Hopefully you can change your flight , I had to twice and I was with Delta and they were fantastic about it. If you ring the airline and explian to them what's happening then they will put you on a plane as soon as you have visa in hand. SO as soon as you receive it call the airline darl. Best of luck and I know the consulate are really slow in answering emails. My visa was delayed too and by my 3rd email I had it is 24 hours left 2 days later and got home 1 week before my wedding.

Divorced !st November 2012.

Married only 2 years 1 month

I received my visa after a week and a half - and I'm thinking the only reason I got it back was because I emailed. Make sure you are contacting the Sydney IV Immigrant Visa email (the same one that they emailed your packet 3 & 4 from. I've always had really prompt responses from them through this email. After I sent them the email, they printed the visa and sent it out on the same day.

Good Luck.
