hello to everyone... yesterday i was looking for some information about K1 visa and i end up reading visa journey cos there are so many informative write ups here... and decided to sign up.. we're April filer too and we received our NOA1 may 15 (after a month actually) and we're still waiting for the NOA2 (it's been 5 months now  ).. hopefully we'll be able to receive it end of the month or first week of october.. i'm just wondering, does anyone know if i should secure a police clearance in Australia where i worked for 2 years even if i already secured NBI clearance here in Phil...will the US embassy (Manila) still needs it for my future interview? Thanks in advance! :help:

They will want a police clearance from any country where the applicant stayed for 6 months or more. So yes, order one from Australia.

Van&me: welcome to visa journey and to the April 2011 Filers group! Hope you will be receiving your NOA2 soon. Perhaps you and your fiance have already seen the Manila-specific K1 Interview preparations from the embassy site. If not, here is a link to the most recent version of this document (July 2011):

http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_003.pdf

In this document, you will see affirmation and further details of Cyclone's response to you as well as additional information/details about preparations for the interview and SLMEC medical examination. Now, even before you receive the NOA2, is a very good time for you and your fiance, working as a team, to start getting all documents in order. After NOA2 receipt, the process seems to go very, very fast. Again, welcome to VJ, and let us know of anything else with which we may be able to help! --RK and Inday

Thanks. After thinking about things, I believe that it was God's perfect timing why it turned out this way. I talked to Serena's doctor tonight and found out that she was in such distress during the delivery that she ingested a small amount of marconium (fecal matter). As a result, she has pneumonia and is responding to antibiotics. She'll be in an incubator for a little while longer. Hopefully, I'll be able to bring her home after I get to Manila. She weighed 6 lbs, 6 oz. and was 19.5 inches long at birth. Amy said she was able to get up to see her today and should have pics for me shortly. Amy is also being discharged today.

Hope all will be well for you.. Will this change the schedule for the medical and interview at all?

Interview? I don't think so. On the other hand, the medical will have to be put off for a few days to a week at least. We have time, though. The interview isn't until 10/18. As long as we don't wait too long I think we'll be okay. I leave in 9 more days for my month-long vacation to be with Amy and Serena.

Lucky, I wish I had that much time off of work. :) When I go to pick my lady up, it will be over the 4 days off I have for Thanksgiving. So won't have much time there.
