A 21 day visa is given on arrival. Extensions are available if needed.

If you stay 21 days or less you just needed your U.S. passport.

Guidelines on Entry Visas of Temporary Visitors to the Philippines

A. Nationals from countries listed below are allowed to enter the Philippines without visas for a stay not exceeding twenty-one (21) days, provided they hold valid tickets for their return journey to port of origin or next port of destination. Department regulations require that passports are valid for a period of not less than six (6) months beyond the contemplated period of stay. However, Immigration Officers at ports of entry may exercise their discretion to admit holders of passports valid for at least sixty (60) days beyond the intended period of stay.

B. Nationals from the following countries are allowed to enter the Philippines without a visa:

Hi, you could visit philippines free of visa for 3 weeks which is 21 days only, before you reach 21 days thats the time you need to acquire visa for your extension of stay. You could do that with a help of travel agency or you could do that by yourself and visit Immigration office in Manila or Makati city.

The requirement is your personal visit and/or agent, with your US passport original (thats what i only surrender, bcos i was knwon by the person who aranged my husband visa) and the payment. The 1st time my fiance - now my husband visited me in Philippines, he extended his for 3-4 weeks more.

PM me if you need to, my sister is working in Immigration in Makati as fingerprinting/ACR coder. She handles status of stays of every foreign national in Manila, though they mostly work on business/company personels.

these are all we paid for:

visa waiver ( visa extension) = P 500.00

visa waiver application fee = 1,000.00

legal research fee = 20.00

express processing fee 500.00

total: P 2,020.00 = about $39 - $40 or give allowance of $50 for this

Thanks for the information. My ticket is on 1st of october and leave 23rd.. so i think i still need that visa for 1 days extension

Some people who just overstay a day or 2 get it done at NAIA on the way out or get an extension before leaving the airport. You might check with philippine immigration upon arrival if this would be possible.

I stayed for 23 days in the Philippines and never got questioned by immigration didnt even registered.

you don't need one for less than 30 days, just a valid passport.

All you need passport but if your planning to stay longer than 30 days then you would need a visa.

I got an extension and it was really easy. All I did was take two passport photos to the immigration officer in Iligan and presto, I had my extension.
