you call the 1800 number, and you tell them that you need to file a service request, because you are outside normal processing times. They will ask you few questions, then they will be able to tell you if you are eligible yet, or you have to wait few more days or may be weeks.

If you have not contacted your congressman yet, do it! At this point they can help you get the ball rolling. They got me my NOA2 approval, basically. Even if you didn't vote or anything, contact them! This is what our tax money pays them to do for us. Tell them your case number, how long its been, and what the current processing time is. they will call and get an answer for you. Good luck!

call the uscis customer service number. 1-800-375-5283. don't remember the numbers you puch but choose the option for case status, then the option for reporting a problem, that will get you to the first tier of customer service. If you are past 6 months they will probably do a service request for you. make sure you write down the confirmation number of the request... they lost mine

AND... contact your congressman!!!!

DO NOT SEND A SERVICE REQUEST.. DO NOT SEND A SERVICE REQUEST.. I sent a service request on the 8th of April. They responded back saying they need another 60days. Now when I called to get it expedited nobody can do anything for me because the VSC said wait another 60 days. If they respond to your service request saying wait another 60days (which is a general response) it buys them more time and causes you not to be able to do anything about it. GO THROUGH YOUR SENATOR OR CONGRESSMAN. Have them request the expedite if it's been longer than 6 months. DO NOT SEND A SERVICE REQUEST. You are shooting yourself in the foot if you do. I got a big hole in mine because of it.
