Hey all,

My fiance told me that she talked to someone recently who got approved with the K-1 visa. She told me that the girl was asked for w2 when she had the tax transcripts. That is what she heard, though she is not sure if it was tax return or the tax return transcripts. Is the tax return transcripts better to have then the tax return and w2? What is the CO looking for? And would they ask for w2 if you have the tax return transcripts?

Tax transcript is better because its much easier for the embassy and for you. They are also free from the IRS.

Tax transcripts do not need W2.

Tax returns need all pages including W2.

No two cases are necessarily alike. Even if you provide income tax transcripts, consular officers can ask to see W-2's. Why take chances?
