Geez, probably not a good time to discover this error. I check my wife birth paper which was notorize and her dads name is spelled with a letter "b" instead of a letter "p". I check all the form I've filled out it was with a "p". It should be Xiaobo, but instead Xiaopo.

Right now I am the NVC stage and just a week ago submitted all the NVC required documents, the only thing I got back as a RFE was her missing a passport paper. All the form and her visa paper is filled with her dads with a "p".

Now the question is should I make this correction and contact the NVC and if so will I have to resubmit all the form from the I-130 again till the DS-230 form? Or should I let it see how far it goes. I'm doing EP process.

I know the background will be done I guess at the GUZ embassy in China. I figure they will find this small error or maybe not. So what's the suggest here. Let it go through or resubmit the error?

hmmmm..I wish I didn't discover this.

Yes, you need to correct it now by contacting NVC with updated documents if you can. In the future you and your wife may need to use the name again and again. Like adjustment of her status, have her parents visit US in the future.

To avoid such errors, it is better to let your wife review all the forms you filled out. Some Chinese syllables may sound similar to you but not to her.

At what process do they do the background check on the Chinese spouse?

If I make corrections would they need me to required to send in the paper work, and can I assume that would be another 3-4 months before a completed NVC stage if I contact NVC of this error. Or do I wait because I am close to finish up at the NVC in 2 weeks.

Then wait after you finish up with NVC. The errors are not major but you need to handle it to avoid troubls in the future.

My interview is coming up in June 15th can I change the letter typo at the interview when my wife hands in the paper work?

Sure, I think it is better to change it on documents hand-in day because documents hand-in is done by all Chinese officers at the consulate.

Also if she gets visa, on visa package her parents' first name will be listed there.
