Hi i have had a read through on the fourm about shipping and it seems to be for a quite a few boxes, I am only looking to send 2 parcels but cant seem to find out any details about customs. I have gotten a very very good quote from parcelmonkey.co.uk but there is no further details on the site so any help would be fantastic

Depends on what you are sending. If it is personal belongings then I just boxed my things up and sent normal air mail and was here in 2 weeks.

Any way you can pack it in a suitcase or two and bring it with you, just pay the additional baggage fee? Usually about $50 or £30 per item, much cheaper than shipping if you're travelling the same time.

And you have 10 years to move your belongings to US.

So if it's some items that will fit e.g. in 5 suitcases, and you are not in a hurry, you can always bring 2 suitcases worth of your stuff with you when you visit your family. Or if they visit you, ask to bring one suitcase worth of your stuff with when they visit you.

I took my stuff as extra baggage when I moved back on BA... I think it was like 40 - 50 quid a bag - so for me it was 80 pounds extra. Shipping quotes from London to California were RIDICULOUS.
