Ok my dad is my co-sponsor he is now ann American Citizen but was born in Jamaica so his birth certificate says Jamaica should I still send it or should I send a copy of his passport and citizenship? He's also self employed will this be a problem but makes well over 95,000.00 and has his taxes to prove it. I also wanted to know does he sign the I-134 or the I-864?

His birth certificate is useless. They need proof he's a US citizen or LPR. A copy of his certificate of naturalization OR his US passport would prove this.

Self-employed is not a problem, as long as his total income is enough to qualify. Line 22 on his 1040 form.

Most consulates require an I-134 for a K1 visa, though a few require an I-864.

My dad is my co-sponsor, too. What other documents are you sending with the I-134? Do you have to send bank statements or things like that?

When we went for our interview in Jamaica for a K-1 visa in January, 2010, we used the 1-134 and I had bank statements, letter from Employer, and W-2s and tax transcripts from the past 3 years of tax returns. They didn't ask to see all of it but it's better to have more than enough evidence than not enough!
