hey all,

so i got here with a k1 visa in October,we got married in the 90 days and we will apply for aos in may my question is can i travel in the us from a state to another if i don t have a green card or a travel permit? what should i show at the airport my marriage certificate and social security card and passport ?thanks

You really just need your passport (as ID) for domestic air travel. Make sure the plane ticket matches the name in your passport even if you changed it after marriage! That is your only official ID until you receive something from USCIS (Green Card or EAD) with your new name and TSA (airport security) is only interested in that the name on your ID matches that of your ticket, not your immigration status (generally speaking.)

For this reason, it is a good idea to carry a copy of your AOS NOA1 (I-797C Notice of Action) and your marriage certificate but it is unlikely they will be needed.

thanks, i got scared a little we are going to our uncle wedding a month after we will apply for the aos and i was thinking they are going to arrest me in the airport or something because it s been 5 months since we got married and my visa expired .Have a great day

LOl oh darling your visa expired the day you arrived K1 you mean your I-94 has expired which is your status but your ok and hope you have a great time at the wedding.
